Rounds

This page guides you though the rounds recognised by Green Dragon Bowmen. Many rounds are grouped together as they follow a similar patten and are designed to be shot by different people at the same time. Although many rounds have junior in there name there is no requirement to be a junior to shoot the rounds. Similarly rounds with Gents and Ladies are not limited to people who are or identify as a Gent or Lady. Rounds with a specific bow type in the name may be shot by any bow type. Some rounds have more than one name for the same round.

The following organisations define rounds that Green Dragon Bowmen recognise:

  • WA – World Archery
  • AGB – Archery GB
  • HAA – Hertfordshire Archery Association
  • GDB – Green Dragon bowmen

Archery GB is currently considering changing the names of some of the rounds to remove Junior and Short from the names and replace with Roman numerals. Archery GB propose that these changes are introduces 1st April 2022.

Indoor Rounds

These rounds are indoor rounds however at GDB we allow for indoor rounds to be shot outdoors as well, as shooting outdoors is generally harder outdoors than indoors. For compounds only the inner ring AKA X ring is counted as 10. The outer ’10’ ring is counted as 9 for compounds. All other rounds treat the target the same as for outdoors.
