Thank you for showing an interest in our archery beginners’ course. You will need to attend all sessions. We will start at 12:30 and finish at 16:30 each day. You will need to arrive 15-30 minutes before the start.
Participants must complete all sessions and demonstrate that they are safe to gain their certificate. Whilst there is no test at the end of the course, participants are constantly being assessed and are not guaranteed a pass. It is important that you fill in all relevant information on the application form, so that we can tailor the course to meet your individual needs, inaccuracies on the form may be considered when deciding if you have passed.
Please ensure you bring a drink and a folding chair with you. There will be a 30 minute break.
Access to our range at Knebworth Park is via Old Knebworth Lane only and not though the main entrance off the A1(M) motorway. The nearest postcode is SG3 6PT. The entrance to the park has the What3Words address of ///silver.ruler.pasta.
Our club huts are situated past Lytton Hall, turn right down the side of Lytton Hall, over the cattle grid, at the first bend in the road turn right into our car park.. Here you will be greeted by one of our members who will direct you where to park and where to sign in. The field opposite our car park is where we shoot – we will be set up and waiting.
The course will be led by members of the coaching team, assisted by fellow club members. The club will provide all the equipment required. We advise you to wear non baggy tops, without loose parts such as pull cords, brooches, side buttons etc. Please do not wear jackets that can not be done up. Wear stout enclosed footwear. No open toes please. Please remove torso and face piercings. If you are unable to remove them add a comment in the disability section of the application form. Ear piercings are fine. You may also require waterproof clothing, as we only stop shooting in thunder and lightning. Juniors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian, who must remain with them in the Park at all times.

To enrol, fill in the application form below, one for each person. The fee is payable in advance. Pay by bank transfer to Green Dragon Bowmen, Sort Code 20-41-12, Account Number 10417114, quoting “Beginners” and the Beginner’s surname(s) as a reference.
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, upon receipt of payment and completed application form. The course is subject to the availability of the archery field on the given dates. In the event of field unavailability, the course may be rearranged or cancelled. Whilst Archery is an all weather sport, special consideration may be undertaken in the event of extreme weather. In the unlikely event that a course is cancelled all payments will be returned or bookings transferred onto the next available course.
