Following my recent email about the Hertfordshire Archery Association Summer League (copied below), the fixtures have been announced and our first match is against Abbey Bowmen and will be held at Knebworth Park on Sunday 10th May. We will meet at the huts and set up the field at 09.45, with Assembly (everyone set up and ready to shoot) at 10.45 and Sighters (one end of six practice arrows at the furthest distance) at 11.00. The match will last approximately 3 hours. No other shooting is permitted during the match, although the field will be available as soon as it has finished.
The scores on the day of the top 5 adult recurve and top 3 junior (all bow types) from this match will go towards the club league, with all scores going towards the individual league. Barebow and compound archers may shoot in the fixture, but they will also have the option of submitting a better score if they shoot one on another day during the month.
You will shoot at an 80cm target face (see below) at two different distances depending on your age and gender, per the email below. You may shoot a shorter distance than your age group but your score cannot be counted in the match, it would just be practice.
Participants will be asked to bring a contribution towards the post-match refreshments (details when numbers are known). Parents/carers are welcome to take part in these! I will need a non-shooter or two to help with setting up the refreshments on the day.
